Food labels name the manufacturer, producer, repacker or brand owner with address, country of origin and the producing establishment's registration or identification code, plus the importer's name and address for imports; cosmetics carry the registration holder's name and identification number.

Mandatory food information must be in the official language (Spanish), and foods over the limits carry black octagons reading "EXCESO" plus the nutrient on the main face, with elaborators, importers and fractioners responsible for them; cosmetic secondary packs carry the MSP registration data in the language of the country of sale.

Labels may not attribute effects or properties the food does not have or that cannot be shown, and nutrition claims are added to the nutrient declaration, never in place of it.
